Ingredients for making Amla Murabba
Amla – 15-20
Cardamom powder – 1/4 tsp
Sugar – 2 and a half cup (as per taste)
Saffron threads – 1/2 pinch

How to make Amla Murabba
If you want to make Amla marmalade in winter, first choose green gooseberries and then wash them thoroughly with water. After this wipe all the gooseberries one by one with a cotton cloth. Now make holes around the amla with the help of fork or knife. Make holes in all the gooseberries and keep them separately in a vessel. Now pour 4-5 cups of water in a pan and keep it on medium flame to heat.

When the water becomes hot, put amla in it and boil them for at least 10 minutes by increasing the flame. After this, turn off the gas and keep the gooseberry separately from the water. After this, put three cups of water and sugar in another vessel and keep it on medium flame to heat. When the sugar and water mix well and the syrup starts boiling, add amla to it.

After adding Amla, reduce the flame of the gas and cook Amla in sugar syrup for 30 to 40 minutes. It has to be cooked until the gooseberry becomes completely soft in the syrup and the syrup gets absorbed in the gooseberry well. Now let the mixture cool down. Fill amla with sugar syrup in a glass jar and leave it for 48 hours.

By doing this, amla will absorb the sugar syrup very well. After this, take out the gooseberry from the syrup and boil it by adding cardamom powder and saffron to the syrup. Boil it until a syrup of 2-3 strings is formed. After this add amla again in the sugar syrup and boil it for 5 minutes. After this, let the Amla marmalade cool down. Now Amla Murabba is ready. Store it in a glass jar. Amla marmalade will not spoil for a long time.
